Decorative and industrial coatings rely on a carefully balanced blend of mineral fillers to achieve target opacity, sheen, rheology and scrub resistance. Talc, kaolin and calcium carbonate each contribute distinct properties that no single mineral can replicate alone.

For coatings formulators, sourcing these three minerals from a single, reliable supplier simplifies procurement, reduces incoming quality variation and enables consolidated technical support.

Each mineral's role

Calcium carbonate functions as a cost extender and contributes mild whiteness and opacity when used with TiO₂. Ultra-fine GCC grades (D50 < 3 µm) improve gloss and reduce TiO₂ demand through spacer effects.

Talc's platy structure improves barrier properties in anti-corrosion primers and provides smooth brushability in topcoats. Its low oil absorption reduces binder demand.

Kaolin contributes to hiding power in flat and eggshell paints. Calcined kaolin, in particular, is used in semi-gloss formulations where controlled matting and improved scrub resistance are required.

Heliopolis supplies all three minerals to paint manufacturers across Egypt, North Africa and the Levant, with technical support for grade selection and formulation guidance.
